Performance Management

Performance management is data-driven decision making at a charter school. It is facilitated via the use of high-quality strategies and systems that gather, organize, analyze, report and share information about student and school performance.

The Colorado League of Charter Schools helps charter schools align resources to support the implementation, development, and ongoing use and improvement of performance management systems at the board, school and teacher level. We offer a variety of Performance Management supports, such as:

  • Helping charter schools receive access to their student level data from their district/authorizer in a timely manner.
  • Aiding charter schools in the decision making process related to the purchase of performance management systems.
  • Vetting new performance management systems as they enter the marketplace.
  • Leveraging group purchasing power by forming collaboratives on behalf of charter schools where there is significant interest from charter schools and when it benefits charter schools.
  • Providing technical assistance to charter schools related to the implementation of performance management systems.
  • Hosting trainings, workshops and customized support on performance management related issues.
  • Providing guidance to charter schools on writing and reviewing plans needed for Unified Improvement Plans and Requests for Proposals for performance management systems.
  • Providing charter schools access to performance management resources and connecting them to other charter schools for collaboration.

Data Management & Assessment Strategies

We assist member charter schools in developing and implementing data management and assessment strategies. Through this program, we help you determine your school’s needs and capacities and evaluate the functionality, costs and ease of implementing prospective systems.

State Assessments and Performance Management Systems

We offer assistance with the interpretation, use and understanding of state assessment test results including the Colorado Growth Model, School Performance Frameworks, and Colorado Measures for Academic Success. Additionally, we can facilitate a training for your teachers and staff so they can gain a better understanding of their performance management systems and how these systems benefit decision making at both the building and classroom levels.

Performance Management System Purchasing and Implementation

League and Vendor Partnerships

The League vets new performance management systems that enter the Colorado market. While the League remains agnostic to specific systems, we will leverage group purchasing power by forming a collaborative when there is interest from charter schools and when it benefits charter schools. Currently, we have such an arrangement with data management systems Alpine Achievement and Illuminate Data and Assessment (DnA).
